Through the village of wooden bridge follow the signs to the piece and to the Gavia pass. Here the climb is interesting, riding on large lawns on wide road again to the village of St. Apollonia, in the Stelvio National Park. After some hairpin the road narrows and initiated significant gradients: 14% to 16% and then suddenly with a 5% "paved" with a wide view of the Valley of the harvest.
We proceed on straight exposed, the vegetation thins out considered the height (above 2000 meters), the slopes are incurred (9%).
You arrive at the mouth of the short but dark tunnel with slopes up to 12% on the last challenging stretch of the ascent. The road hangs over the small black Lake and continues with high gradients up to the Gavia pass.
About 1.5 km climb leading to the descent along Valfurva.
